Ready to design a better future?
We’re thrilled to announce a new live virtual learning experience with cultural icon Margaret Atwood and special guest experts called Practical Utopias: An Exploration of the Possible.
Margaret has been crowned “the prophet of dystopia,” and we couldn’t be more excited to collaborate with her and a global learning community to co-create utopia — better living plans that could actually work — in this once-in-a-lifetime experience.
To bring a multitude of perspectives to this exploration of the possible, Margaret has assembled an all-star line up of special guests including Yasmeen Hassan, Dave Eggers, Suzanne Nossel, Rev. Adam Russell Taylor, Dr. David Suzuki, Raj Patel, Julie Hanna, Nelson Ole Reiyia, Margaret Koshal Reiuia, and Bill McKibben, to name a few.
Here’s what Margaret had to say about Practical Utopias:
“Disco is the perfect partner to bring this collaborative learning experience to life. Think of Practical Utopias as a sort of sandbox for grownups: the construction of imaginary communities with real solar cookers in them. Welcome to the future... we hope.”
We think Practical Utopias is an incredible example of the future of learning. As the world grapples with the climate crisis, the pandemic, technological revolution, and social injustice, the co-creation of a desirable future relies upon creative people - like YOU - to learn live together and co-create practical solutions to some of our biggest challenges.
We’d love for you to be part of co-creating the future as a member of the world’s most interesting and creative virtual classroom.
Alongside Margaret, we’re putting out a call to the world's most interesting and creative problem solvers to join her and special guest experts to explore the possible and co-design practical utopias in this 8-week virtual live learning experience.
This is your chance to collaboratively tackle big questions and unlock solutions to some of humanity's greatest challenges.
If this is up your alley, there are only 200 spots to co-create practical utopias alongside Margaret Atwood, special guests, and a global learning community - so don’t wait!
We’re committed to building a diverse and inclusive learning community, so we’ve partnered with GSV Ventures and Penguin Random House to offer full and partial scholarships to this live learning experience. You can also enroll as an “Observer” and participate at a lower price point.
It is a dream come true to partner with Margaret Atwood and exactly the type of learning we at Disco get excited about … one that leaves the industrial age behind and is led by creators we love like Margaret, brings together a diverse and global learning community, and is highly immersive and collaborative. We're excited... Are you!?
