May 2025 Product Update Roundup

Launched on
May 31, 2025

This month, we’re introducing new ways to test early features, personalize collaboration, and improve learning compliance—all designed to give you more control and flexibility as you scale. From smarter chat tools to AI-generated posts and deeper SCORM enforcement, here’s what’s new in May:

Google Calendar Integration

We’ve expanded our calendar integrations to include Google Calendar—making it even easier for members to stay in sync with the events that matter. Now, in addition to Outlook, users can connect their Google calendar directly to Disco, enabling automatic, reliable syncing of all events across communities.

Disco’s new Google Calendar integration ensures:

  • Instant syncing of events you RSVP to in Disco
  • Automatic updates to your calendar if event details change
  • A single calendar connection for all your Disco communities

Fewer clicks. Better coordination. Happier learners.

Disco Labs Is Now Live

Disco Labs is officially available to all customers, giving you early access to upcoming features before they reach general release. Labs lets you test new functionality, evaluate fit with your workflows, and provide direct feedback that helps us shape the final product.

How to leave feedback on Labs features:

  • Go to Admin > Settings > Labs
  • Select a feature
  • Click Leave Feedback to open a quick surve

Currently available in Labs:

  • Member Directory
  • Group Directory
  • Time-to-Complete Content
  • Pass/Fail Grading for Assignments
  • Product Tagging

Chat Improvements

We’ve rolled out major updates to chat, making it more powerful and customizable for every member of your community.

  • @channel mentions are now supported—with confirmation prompts to prevent unintentional pings
  • Admin controls allow you to manage who can use @channel
  • Per-channel notification settings give users control over how and when they get notified:
    • All Messages
    • Replies & Mentions Only (default)
    • No Messages
  • UI enhancements make it easier to manage settings:
    • On web: channel settings live in a new tabbed drawer
    • On mobile: channel header includes a dropdown for quick access

Test SSO Connections in a New Tab

SSO test connections have been upgraded for clarity and ease of use. Now when testing a connection:

  • The test opens in a separate tab
  • The parent window automatically refreshes the connection status
  • You’ll see clear success/failure messaging with next steps

Write Custom Posts with AI

Disco’s AI post generation has expanded! Team Disco users can now generate custom posts in the community feed using:

  • A custom prompt
  • Optional web search
  • Optional reference URL

The AI is context-aware of the feed description, and support for attaching internal community sources is coming soon.

Require SCORM Completion Before Curriculum Item Completion

This feature is now available to all communities. When adding SCORM content to a curriculum item, you can now require that learners complete the SCORM module before marking the item as complete.

This ensures deeper engagement with learning materials and works seamlessly with:

  • Disco’s quiz pass/fail logic
  • Prerequisite gating in curriculum setup

Note: Be sure your SCORM files are properly configured to track completion—otherwise learners may be blocked from progressing.

As always, thank you for building with us. Your feedback helps us shape a platform where knowledge flows freely and learning feels effortless. Have an idea or want to try features early? Reach out—we’re listening.
